Thanks to the TMS treatment I have gained motivation to do activities I had previously lost interest in doing. For those without a routine currently it is also very helpful for developing that.

I am a U.S Army veteran and recently began TMS treatment, and I’m starting to notice small but meaningful improvements in my ability to interact with others. It’s a gradual process, but I’ve realized that the treatment isn’t just about showing up—it also requires effort on my part to truly “try.” Taking that step to actively engage with the process has been key to experiencing the benefits. My TMS experience with Dr Siddiki was great. A week or so after the treatment was over I started feeling better, more energized and motivated to finish tasks. Highly recommend it to anyone struggling with MDD. Thank you Jessica, you are awesome!

My experience with the TMS treatment was phenomenal. I was placed in a comfortable chair and Jessica, and Dr. Siddiki settled me in. They were so kind. Every treatment I was feeling less depressed and hopeful. I felt more alert and clear-headed. I also lost some weight and it seems like my metabolism has improved. I have more energy and I am happier. Every treatment was needed because I slowly felt better after each treatment. I totally recommend the TMS treatment. Dr. Siddiki is very thorough and a good doctor.

I have started seeing Dr. Siddiki in October 2023 for depression and anxiety. I went through several medications but not tolerating the side effects very well. Finally in mid June 2024, I was convinced to try the daily 6-week TMS treatment as an alternative. It was by no means the most convenient but in my case was the difference maker in how my mood and thinking slowly started to shift. Read More

Innovative Treatment for Depression, OCD and Anxiety

At Perfect Balance Psychiatric Services, we’re excited to offer advanced TMS treatment with the FDA-approved Horizon 3.0 Stimguide. This new technology allows our clinicians to provide personalized, effective therapy for depression, OCD, and anxious depression, ensuring precision and better care throughout the process.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive treatment for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), especially effective in individuals who haven't responded to traditional antidepressant medications. It uses magnetic pulses, delivered through a coil placed on the scalp, to stimulate specific areas of the brain involved in mood regulation—typically the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. TMS is generally well-tolerated, requires no anesthesia, and is performed over several sessions. It’s FDA-approved and has shown to significantly reduce depressive symptoms in many patients.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is also FDA-approved for treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), particularly in cases where other treatments like medication and therapy haven’t been effective. For OCD, TMS targets a different brain area—the anterior cingulate cortex and the medial prefrontal cortex—using a specialized protocol called deep TMS. This non-invasive treatment involves delivering magnetic pulses through a helmet-like device to help regulate the neural circuits involved in obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. It’s typically administered over several weeks and has been shown to reduce OCD symptoms in many patients.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an emerging treatment option for anxiety disorders, though it is not yet FDA-approved specifically for generalized anxiety. However, it is often used off-label or alongside treatment for co-occurring conditions like depression. TMS works by delivering magnetic pulses to targeted brain regions involved in emotional regulation, such as the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, to help calm overactive neural activity linked to anxiety. It’s non-invasive, well-tolerated, and typically done in daily sessions over several weeks, with many patients reporting reduced anxiety symptoms and improved overall mood.

FAQ

Yes, TMS is covered by most commercial insurances and federal insurances including Medicare and Tricare. Our office will apply for TMS therapy to your insurance and notify you once approved.
TMS feels like a tapping sensation. Some patients experience discomfort, and others say they do not feel much of anything. During TMS, the machine will make a clicking sound. Patients wear earplugs and can listen to music, watch TV, chat with their technician or sit back and relax.
The most common side effect is discomfort at or near the treatment site. These events are transient; they occur during the TMS treatment course and do not occur for most patients after the first week of treatment.
We advise our patients to continue taking their medications as prescribed unless instructedby our Medical Director or the doctor managing their psychiatric care. Each patient is different, though, so you should discuss any changes with your doctor and alert the TMS Coordinator and your treater.
